Very negative experience. Inept customer service both at the store and national service center, with a near-total lack of follow-through. "Custom" furniture was not as ordered, even after numerous tries, and quality was below expectations.
Decent selection of above average (but not high end) furniture. I deducted a star because the sales lady did not give us space when we asked for a few minutes to look around by ourselves... She stayed right on our heals and then acted offended when we walked away from her. Ultimately she gave us the 10 minutes we asked for and she ended up being helpful, but the drama was unnecessary.
Our Sales person was Jerry Coffey and we found him to be warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. We purchased a sectional and enjoyed working with him so much, purchased a new bedroom suit for our new home. The furniture is well built and constructed and prices are within range for this area. If you want southern hospitality and excellent customer experience, ask for Jerry from UNC!
I would not shop here again. Ordered 8 dining room chairs and was told by salesman they would be delivered in a week. After hearing nothing from store for a week, I called and found out the chairs would take a month to be delivered. When delivery finally came (a month late), they only delivered 5 of the 8 chairs. One of the chairs was wobbly so the delivery guy put a felt pad under one foot to "fix" it. The pad came off as soon as I pulled the chair out.
The chairs are nice, but nothing I couldn't get from any other furniture store. I have had much nicer experiences at other stores such as Stacy's, Wood Sense, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, etc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HAVERTY'S.
I had to call to schedule a second delivery to get the 3 undelivered chairs and replace broken chair. The operator told me the second delivery couldn't be scheduled for another week. They gave me a time window between 12 and 3 which fit my schedule. The day before delivery, Haverty's changed the time to 3 to 5 which conflicted with my schedule and caused a lot of rearranging at work.
Received wonderful customer service and a pleasant and thorough purchase experience. I got what I paid for.
